It's time to nominate drivers for the 2009 Driver of the Year.

The categories are:
* Young driver of the year (born 1988 or later)
* Open wheel driver of the year
* Stock car / Sportscar / Touring car driver of the year
* Karting driver of the year
* Surprise of the year (the driver which has suprised you the most in 2009)

The nominations are open until the 15th of the December and on the 16th to the end of the year you'll be able to vote.

Done! Some were tough decisions! I wish I had more access to some of the European and Australian series so I could follow some of them. Maybe Driver's DB could get a license for streaming the tv feeds! I'd pay for that.  Grin

Certainly alot of class to choose from and good with the brief bio beside each driver but certainly hard to choose a front runner. Going to Vegas this year and getting to see those European Karters in action helped, least the drivers down here have seen in action on a regular basis plus Saldana has been down here already this season and picked up another win. The Europeans haven't seen much of their racing lately other than coverage of the F3 due to Hartley running the series.
Think the final results when they come out will be interesting.

I just voted and sent a few more voters your way via my Twitter account.  I agree with the sentiment above...  some of the categories are pretty tight.  It's tough to make a comfortable decision.
