The new season of AMA Supercross is underway!! I missed the 1st 2 events so I have some catching up to do. Looks like Chad Reed has moved over to the Monster Energy Kawasaki team this year. Not sure why he would move from a winning team but I'm sure he has a good reason....right? James Stewart (current champ) is still with his Yamaha team this year so he should be right there on top this year again.

Here's the season schedule:
1/9:Anaheim, CA
1/16:Phoenix, AZ
1/23:Anaheim, CA
1/30:San Francisco, CA
2/6:San Diego, CA
2/13:Anaheim, CA
2/20:Indianapolis, IN
2/27:Atlanta, GA
3/13:Toronto, Ontario
3/20:Dallas, TX
3/27:Jacksonville, FL
4/10:Houston, TX
4/17:St. Louis, MO
4/24:Seattle, WA
5/1:Salt Lake City, UT
5/8:Las Vegas, NV

Early on in the season and already lots of drama.

The HEATED rivalry between Stewart and Reed is at full throttle....well.....was. In race 2 in Phoenix, Reed and Stewart collided and Reed ended up with a broken wrist. Reed will miss about 6 weeks of the season pretty much taking him out of the chase. Stewart also sustained a hand, ankle, and shoulder injury. Nothing TOO serious and he is still racing but racing with pain. Reed ended up shoving Stewart's helmet after the collision as the 2 tried to get going again and after the race Stewart would enter Reed's pit area and push Reed's bike off its stands. Reed was fined $5000 and suspended for one race but won an appeal for the suspension. It won't matter since he's out from the injury though. Stewart was given a warning.

We also have a rookie winning 2 of the 1st 3 races. (Ryan Dungey) Right now Dungey has the points lead.

Keep an eye for former MX2 World Champ Kiwi Ben Townley as the season goes on he will feature.
