I am absolutely stunned. That call for blocking on Helio was complete BS!

Ahh! What a total crock! This was a bad moment for Indycar. Nascar has "boys have at it" and Indycar has this. I'd be ticked if I paid to watch that race. -- I'm ticked and I didn't pay.

What do you think Roger will say about this?

I agree. It was a terrible call. There was no blocking. Barnhart tells no driver shall be on the inside of the race line, which in this case was the straightaway divided in half since it was a roadcourse. Well, both Power and Castroneves were both on the inside of this line so I dont see his explanation any more valid. Helio won the race no matter what the decision was in my eyes.

What?! I didn't see this one coming. I watched the race from the track feed at the IRL website so either I missed something or it wasn't that big of a deal.  Undecided

Not a great weekend for motor "sport". First the Ferrari team orders that forced Massa to more or less stop on the track to let Alonso take his win away from him and now this.  Angry

Yes, a bad, controversial day in Motorsports for sure.

Has anyone ever heard of this "no inside line unless your passing rule"? It sounds like a lot of benifit for the guy in second place. If there were two laps left and there was a restart I'd definately want to be p2 and not p1 in that case.

I just know that Helio was pissed... and he is the most quiet guy of all drivers.

Indy needs proper road courses and not these parking lots...Edmonton sucks ass. But indeed the rule is moronic, drivers should be able to use the track with the way they want.

I understand the rule but I dont like it. The lead car should be able to choose thier racing line. Now if they keep switching the line, yes, that is blocking. But, if they choose one and stay with it, it should be fine, especially on a 75 foot wide runway.

Indycar should paint dotted lines to split the track into two lanes. Then have a double yellow when there should be no passing. You could even have a bike lane for Milka and maybe a roundabout or a 4 way stop. Of course there should be signs to designate all of this as well as a couple cars on the track with officials to enforce these rules. Then racing would be so nice and perfect.

Helio got fined $60,000 dollars plus put on probation for the remainder of the season for his outburst at Edmonton.
